Kajawood Oy was founded in 2017. Kajawood Studios building process was announced in October 2020 when the company acquired the lands to the Studio. Building process started in October 2021. Kajawood Studios was announced internationally in Cannes Film Festival, in May 2022.

The signed agreements have ensured the introduction of several international film productions into the area after the completion of the studios. With these agreements, the region will have large international film and TV series productions and international experts for years to come, guaranteeing the profitability of investments in the area well into the future.
